“Freedom of speech is part of the DNA of the University, and non-violent protest has long been the center of our history,” UC President Mark g. Yudof said in a statement Sunday in response to the students sit passively spraying at UC Davis. “It is the value that we must protect its vigilance.”
Yudof said it was not his intention to “micromanage our campus police force”, but he said all 10 Prime Ministers will hold an ideal for discussion “as soon as possible on how to ensure that law enforcement response to non-violent protest in proportion.”
Protesters from Sacramento topped planned to travel to the nearby Davis on Monday to noon in solidarity with the students, the group said in a statement.
UC Davis officials refused to identify the two officers who where administrative leave but one is a veteran of many years in the Navy and other “fairly new” for school Department, the Chief of police Annette Spicuzza told The Associated Press. He will not explain further because of the pending probe.
